Martin Garrix to perform in Shillong on 16 March 2027

International EDM DJ Martin Garrix will perform in Shillong on 16 March 2027, as part of a ten-city India tour organised by Sunburn Arena during Holi celebrations, The Sentinel Assam reported.

Tour itinerary

The tour is scheduled to begin in Ahmedabad on 10 March and will conclude in Pune on 22 March, covering ten major Indian cities. After the Ahmedabad opening, Garrix is set to appear in Bhubaneswar on 12 March, Chennai on 13 March, Bengaluru on 14 March, and Shillong on 16 March. The itinerary continues with Kolkata on 17 March, Hyderabad on 19 March, Delhi-NCR on 20 March, Mumbai on 21 March and finally Pune on 22 March. Each stop is positioned to coincide with local Holi festivities, allowing the DJ to perform amid the seasonal celebrations.

Ticketing and partners

Ticket sales will start with a registered-user pre-sale on 16 November at 12 pm, followed by an exclusive RuPay cardholder pre-sale on 17 November. General sales are slated to open on 18 November through BookMyShow. The tour is presented by RuPay and supported by Hyundai, both of which are highlighted as official partners in the promotional material.

Artist background and past Indian appearances

Martin Garrix is known for chart-topping tracks such as “Animals”, “In the Name of Love”, “Scared to Be Lonely” and “High on Life”. Over the past decade he has performed in India on several occasions. His earlier association with Sunburn Arena includes closing the Sunburn Festival in 2017 and undertaking a nine-show tour across eight cities in 2023. He also headlined a large-scale Holi celebration at DY Patil Stadium and performed at the first Mumbai edition of Sunburn Festival in December 2025. These engagements have helped build a sustained fan base across the country.

Speaking about his return, Garrix said India had become a special part of his musical journey and that he was excited to perform across ten cities during the Holi celebrations. He added that he expected to perform before nearly 200,000 people throughout the tour. Sunburn CEO Karan Singh said the collaboration with Garrix had grown over the years, with the upcoming tour building on their longstanding association and aiming to deliver a high-energy experience for Indian audiences.

Significance for Shillong and the Northeast

The Shillong concert marks the first appearance of the Dutch DJ in the capital of Meghalaya as part of this tour. Organisers anticipate that the event will draw a large crowd from the state and neighboring regions, contributing to the growing profile of international music festivals in the Northeast. Local promoters have highlighted the opportunity for regional talent to engage with a global act, and the partnership with RuPay and Hyundai is expected to boost ancillary economic activity around the venue.
