Corrections
If a story has a name, number, place, or sequence wrong, write to the desk. Material corrections stay visible on the article.

Email [email protected] with the URL, the line you think is wrong, and what you believe is accurate. A document or a link helps. The desk replies even when it does not change the story.
What a correction looks like
Small fixes, such as a spelling or a time of day, are changed in the text and the updated time moves. A correction that changes the meaning of the story is also described at the foot of the article. The original URL stays the same so the correction is what readers and search engines find.
Take-down requests that are really disagreements with a fair report are handled as corrections or as a right of reply, not as silent deletion. Unlawful content is removed.
