Nagaland drops 9 Fortis hospitals, Dispur Hospital from CMHIS (EP)

The Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) has removed 10 hospitals from the list of facilities covered under the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme for Employees and Pensioners, or CMHIS (EP), according to a public notice reported by The Morung Express and Nagaland Post.

Nine of the hospitals belong to the Fortis group in different cities. The tenth is Dispur Hospital in Guwahati.

The hospitals removed

The de-empanelled hospitals listed in the notice are:

• Fortis Hospital Limited, Faridabad (Haryana)
• Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru
• Fortis Hospital Limited, Bengaluru
• SL Raheja Hospital, a Fortis associate, Mumbai
• Fortis Hospital, Mulund (Maharashtra)
• Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi
• Fortis Hospital, Punjab
• Fortis Hospital Limited, Jaipur (Rajasthan)
• Fortis Hospital Limited, Kolkata (West Bengal)
• Dispur Hospital, Assam

The notice, as reported, did not give a reason for removing the hospitals.

What beneficiaries should do

The NHPS advised beneficiaries to go to hospitals that are currently empanelled under CMHIS (EP) so that their treatment remains covered, and to check a hospital's empanelment status before seeking care to make sure cashless treatment is available.

The updated list of empanelled hospitals is on the official scheme website, cmhis.nagaland.gov.in, under the "Hospital" menu. Beneficiaries can also call the NHPS toll-free helpline, 1800-202-3380, for help and clarification.

About the scheme

CMHIS is Nagaland's state health insurance programme, run by the NHPS, which also implements the Centre's Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the state. The employees and pensioners component covers state government staff, pensioners and their dependants for cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals in Nagaland and in other states.

Since the list covers hospitals both inside and outside Nagaland, changes to it affect where beneficiaries travelling to Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi or Bengaluru for specialised care can use the scheme.

Patients already undergoing or planning treatment at any of the 10 hospitals should confirm their coverage with the NHPS before admission, as care at a de-empanelled facility may not be covered under the scheme.
